A Spectrum Analysis of the Signal
I recorded this transmission on the morning of July 28, 2000 at 1142 UTC. It was centered at 10.125 MHz and was 10 to 15 kHz wide. At first I thought it was some new interference from my computer until I realized it was being received via the ionosphere (amplitude and phase characteristics). I have never heard this one before and have no idea what it is. You will notice in the recording that when it stopped transmitting, it simply faded quickly away rather then abrubtly stopping.
There are a couple of other signals in the background that are digital transmissions such as AMTOR or something of the like but are not part of this weird transmission.
